Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - A baseball bat attack on two people in Hammond last week has resulted in attempted murder and other felony-level charges against a Millville man.

A criminal complaint filed in Wabasha County Court charges 40-year-old Joshua Daniel Larson with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. His conditional bail has been set at $250,000.

According to the charges, Larson is accused of repeatedly beating two men with a bat outside a home in Hammond in the early hours of September 7th. One of the victims suffered a broken jaw and cheekbone, a fractured eye socket, skull fractures, and a variety of bruises and scrapes. The other victim had injuries inflicted by being struck by a bat that had nails pounded into it, which caused puncture marks on his head, torso, and buttocks. The court documents do not include information about what prompted the violence.

When he was interviewed by investigators, Larson admitted being present during the incident but denied participating in the assault. His criminal history includes four previous convictions for third-degree assault.
