Minneapolis Man Gets 14 Years for Sex Trafficking Conviction
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A Minneapolis man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for bringing a teen to Fargo for the purpose of prostitution.
Twenty-one-year-old Anthony Sims, also known as Mar Mar, pleaded guilty in January to one count of sex trafficking of children.
Authorities say Sims was arrested on Jan. 16 during a traffic stop when Fargo police discovered the 15-year-old victim, who gave authorities a false name.
Further investigation showed that the victim was a runaway from the Twin Cities.
Before travelling to Fargo, Sims allegedly posted an advertisement on the online site Backpage.com, promoting that there were women available for commercial sex.
