The 24 testing sites are located in several cities, including Albert Lea and Winona in southeast Minnesota. A site is also operated at the Twin Cities airport. The saliva tests are administered at no cost and results are emailed within 24-48 hours.

Overall, the department says more than 6.4-million COVID-19 tests have been documented since the pandemic began

In addition to people with symptoms, case contacts and those interacting with people outside of their household, MDH recommends regular testing every two weeks or monthly for young people in K-12 schools, colleges and trade schools, young athletes, and those involved in other extracurricular activities using the state’s extensive statewide testing operation.

News update:  Less than 10,000 Minnesota seniors picked in covid vaccine lottery.
