Minnesota COVID Vaccinations Nearing 250K – Olmsted Co. Over 20K
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The number of Minnesotans who have had a COVID-19 vaccine shot is approaching 250,000.
That represents about 46 percent of the total number of the COVID vaccine doses that have been shipped to providers in Minnesota. In Olmsted County, the number of people who have received at least one dose of the vaccine is now close to 20,500 and about a quarter of those people have had both shots. The percentage of the local population that has had at least one shot of the vaccine is up to nearly 13.5 percent.
The Minnesota Department of Health today reported 32 additional coronavirus-related deaths. Two of them involved residents of Fillmore County and one in Goodhue County.
Just under 1200 new COVID-19 cases were reported today by the state health department. 41 of the new infections were found in Olmsted County. The testing total from Saturday was close to 28,000 and the daily testing positivity rate was 4.2 percent. The positivity rate has now been near or below 4 percent during the past 4 days.
