Minnesota Man Sentenced for Role With Isis
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Minnesota man learned his fate this week after being convicted for providing material support to ISIS.

A news release issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota says the St. Louis Park man spent four years serving the foreign terrorist organization until he was captured by Syrian Democratic Forces in 2019.
He pleaded guilty to one count of providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization in January of 2021.
Minnesota Man Who Fought With & Worked for ISIS Sent to Federal Prison
Federal Court documents say 27-year-old Abdelhamid Al-Madioum and his family traveled to Morocco in June of 2015 to visit their extended family.
Federal prosecutors say he then left Morocco and traveled to Istanbul, Turkey, and then into Iraq and Syria where he joined ISIS.
The naturalized US citizen then spent four years serving the terrorist organization as a soldier until he was injured in 2015. He then spent the remainder of his time in ISIS as a personnel database administrator, the news release says.
In 2020 he was handed over to the FBI then was indicted by a federal grand jury.
A federal judge sentenced Al-Madioum on Thursday to 10 years in prison. His time behind bars will be followed by 15 years of supervised release.
