Each year, Minnesotans show the rest of the country how to give to the max with a day of charitable giving to thousands of organizations across the state.

The 17th annual Give To The Max Day was held yesterday and is often compared to Black Friday for nonprofits across Minnesota. The idea was to create one organized statewide effort where Minnesotans could go online and donate to local nonprofits and schools. It made supporting favorite causes easy, simple, and accessible to anyone with an internet connection.

The Minnesota Tradition of Giving

Tens of thousands of donors from around Minnesota and from across the country went online and gave generously to more than 6,000 organizations. The turnout broke the previous record for the most collected in a single day.

During the first Give To The Max Day in 2009, even with the website crashing from the surge of donations, the effort still raised more than $14 million for nonprofits and schools. Last year set a new record with $37.1 million raised. This year took things even further and made 2025 the biggest year yet, with more than $37.8 million collected statewide.

Golden Ticket Prizes and Community Impact

Along with thousands of individual donations, GiveMN, the organization behind the event, awarded more than $109,000 in prize grants through its Golden Ticket drawings. A grand prize Super-Sized Golden Ticket worth $10,000 was awarded to the Twin Cities Community Agricultural Land Trust.

"Yesterday, Minnesotans came together across zip codes, causes and communities to make history," said Jenna Ray, CEO and executive director of GiveMN. "This record-breaking year is powerful because it was fueled by thousands of neighbors giving what they could. Give to the Max Day shows that when we give together, we all thrive together."
