(UPDATE) Young Teacher Hurt in Crash With Dodge County Snowplow
West Concord, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Dodge County Sheriff's Office has released additional information about an injury crash involving a snowplow near West Concord this morning.
Sheriff Scott Rose says the car versus snowplow collision was reported just after 7 AM on Dodge County Road 24 about 2 miles east of West Concord near the intersection with Dodge County Road 7.
Rose says the responding deputies found a semi-truck had gone into the ditch and a Dodge County snowplow had stopped at the scene to assist with emergency lights.
Shortly after the snowplow driver stopped, the Sheriff says the car traveling east tried to avoid colliding with the snowplow by going around it into the ditch, but the driver's side of the car ended up smashing into the rear corner of the snowplow and then spun into the ditch. The deputies indicated the roadway was very icy at the time.
The driver of the car was identified as 24-year-old Hannah Mickelson of Kenyon.
Sheriff Rose says the young woman is a teacher at Kasson-Mantorville Schools and was headed to work when the crash occurred.
She was extricated from her vehicle and airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital by Mayo One. Sheriff Rose described her injuries as very serious, but non-life-threatening.

It appears the light snow that fell overnight contributed to an injury crash involving a snowplow in Dodge County this morning.
The West Concord Fire Department responded to the incident around 7 AM near the intersection of 190th Avenue and Dodge County Highway 24 about 2 miles east of West Concord. Fire Chief Chad Finne says it began when the backend of a feed truck slid into the ditch.
Chief Finne says the operator of a Dodge County snowplow came upon the feed truck stuck in the ditch and parked just east of it as a safety measure. That's when the driver of an eastbound car slid into the back of the plow truck.
The driver of the car was airlifted to St. Marys Hospital for treatment. The extent of the person's injuries were not disclosed.

The snowplow driver and the driver of the feed truck were not injured.
