New Rochester City Attorney Could Be Selected Next Week
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester could soon have a new city attorney.
Current City Attorney Terry Adkins announced earlier this year that he was planning to retire in early 2018. He has now picked the exact date: Feb. 16.
The city has already narrowed the list of candidates to two and the finalists were interviewed last Monday by the City Council. They are Nathan LaCoursiere, a current assistant city attorney in Duluth and Jason Loos, deputy city attorney in Portland, OR.
City Administrator Steve Rymer says the council is scheduled to discuss and decide on a new City Attorney finalist at its January 3, meeting.
Adkins became Rochester’s City Attorney in 1991 after working as a prosecutor in the North Dakota Attorney General’s office. He is the longest-serving city attorney in Rochester history.
