Grilled Mac and Cheese Sandwich in Rochester is to Die For
So anytime I'm happy, sad, excited, frustrated or any emotion at all... I turn to food! When it comes to the food department I'm super adventurous. This weekend, one of my coworkers asked if I wanted to go to lunch. We decided to meet at Newt's. He challenged me to try something new. I normally get the peanut butter bacon burger... but I went outside my comfort zone with this adventure.
I decided to get the Grilled Mac and Cheese Sandwhich. I have to say... that was the most heavily sandwich I have ever eaten. It is described as a cheese sandwich with mac and cheese, American cheese, bacon and tomato on sourdough bread.
I did not even care about calories at that point, it just sounded amazing. I had all intentions of only eating half the sandwich. Before going to lunch, I had worked out, and it was an intense cardio day. This means I was a hangry monster and inhaled it faster than the speed of life. Okay... that was exaggerated, but it was so good. The mac and cheese was so creamy! I would order that by its self.
My only complaint about the sandwich... it was super messy. I went through like four napkins trying to keep my face and hands clean. That being my only complaint would not stop me from getting it again!
If I had to make one suggestion, I would maybe add some more different types of cheeses. That way there would be some more sharp flavors like pepper jack, and or mozzarella... that comes through the sandwich. But... that's the only change I would make.
I've had to work out super hard the last few days to kill those calories from that sandwich, but it was totally worth it!
