ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Ramsey County Attorney's Office says the man who fatally shot a teenager in a St. Paul park last month won't face charges.

Court documents say 16-year-old Lavauntai Broadbent had a gun and was trying to rob the man when he shot the teen July 31 in

Minnesota Public Radio News reports the man who shot Broadbent is identified in court documents only by his initials and had a valid permit to carry a gun. He administered first aid to the boy after the shooting while others with the suspect fled the scene. .

Four other teenagers have been charged with attempted robbery and other crimes.
