
Northern Minnesota Teen Killed in Fireworks Accident
MOUNTAIN IRON, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say a 19-year-old man has died after a fireworks accident on northeastern Minnesota's Iron Range.
According to the St. Louis County sheriff's office, Trevor Reichel of Cook was in a backyard in Mountain Iron Friday morning wearing a hard hat with a mortar-style firework on top. Reichel was hurt when the firework went off.
He was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Virginia, Minnesota, and then flown to a Duluth hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The sheriff's office continues to investigate.
