Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - Rochester Police responded to a bank robbery late Monday morning.

A spokesman says the robber entered the Sterling State Bank in the 5600 block of Bandel Road Northwest around 11:20 a.m. and presented a teller a note demanding money. He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber, who did not display a weapon, was described as white, in his mid-30s, around 5 foot 6 and wearing a green sweatshirt, a black and gray stocking hat and black gloves.

Last Wednesday, there was an attempted robbery at the U.S. Bank office along East Circle Drive. In that case, a black male in his early 20s presented a teller with a note, but fled empty-handed when the bank employee turned away from him.
