A man who was taken into custody by Olmsted County deputies yesterday can thank the officers for saving his life.

Captain Scott Behrns says the 27 year old was apprehended on an outstanding warrant after being located at a residence in Chester.  On the way to jail, the man told the officers he felt sick - and then admitted he had just swallowed nearly 2 grams of methamphetamine.

The deputies immediately drove him to St. Mary’s where doctors put him in a medically induced coma.  Doctors told the deputies had they not acted as quickly as they did, the man may have died.
