St Paul (KROC AM News) - It took three years and cost more than $300-million and Friday, Minnesotans took part in the formal grand opening - re-opening - of the state Capitol in St Paul.

Gov. Dayton presided over a ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off three days of activities to mark the project's completion that include music, fireworks and tours

Most of the work was actually completed earlier this year with final touches added in recent weeks.

The Capitol was built in the early 1900’s and formally opened in June 1905.
