Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By LRT

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a METRO Blue Line train in south Minneapolis.

The Star Tribune reports the deadly accident happened shortly before 3 p.m. Friday along Hiawatha Avenue.

The LRT train was traveling at about 40-miles-per-hour when the woman was struck in a crosswalk.

No information about the person killed was immediately available.
