Phased Reopening of Rochester City Facilities Begins Monday
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The City of Rochester is ready to begin the phased reopening of city facilities.
A news release says City Hall and the Development Services and Infrastructure Center will open on Monday using a single customer service counter that will be open from 8 AM until 4 PM Monday through Thursday. City staff will be available on Fridays by phone and email. The in-person services offered will be limited to transactional services at the front desk that could include quick questions of the administrative staff, making payments, along with dropping off or picking up materials. All meetings with city staff will still be held remotely and the phone and web-based options set up for the pandemic will continue to be maintained.
City Administrator Steve Rymer shares, “We are committed to supporting the health and safety of our community and teammates as we continue to provide important City services and reopen City facilities.”
The news release says all city staff will be wearing face coverings or will be behind newly installed Plexiglas barriers. Community members visiting City Hall are strongly encouraged to wear face masks or other coverings.
The Rochester Public Library will be making library computers available for Internet access by appointment between the hours of 1 PM and 6 PM daily. Everyone using the library computers must wear a face covering.
The Rochester Park and Recreation Department is working with youth sports groups to safely resume some activities, and the Rochester Rec Center will be opened for reservations to organized youth sports groups.
The Rochester Public Utilities Service Center will be available for limited in-person transactions from 8 AM until 4 PM Monday through Thursday. The Rochester Police Department law enforcement center counter will also be open for walk-up service, but the public is strongly encouraged to continue requesting reports online.
