
Phone Analysis Leads Investigators to Suspect in Costly Rochester Construction Burglary

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Dodge Center man is facing charges for a burglary at a Rochester construction site.

The criminal complaint, filed in Olmsted County Court, says the burglary and theft was reported to Rochester police on the morning of October 14 last year.
Investigators identified the suspect while investigating a different theft case, the court document says.

Investigators Tie Dodge Center Man to Costly Burglary at Rochester Construction Site
21-year-old Victor Shane Sanchez is charged with third-degree burglary, felony theft and receiving stolen property.
The charges accuse him of stealing an assortment of tools from a job site on 5th St. Northwest in Rochester. He allegedly cut open a pad lock attached to a trailer where the tools were stored, the complaint says.
The value of the tools was estimated to be $5,314. Investigators obtained a warrant for Sanchez's phone and found it was in the area of the job site at the time of the alleged burglary and theft, the charges say.
Law enforcement also discovered two videos in which Sanchez is depicted showing the missing tools and offering to exchange them for a ride, according to the complaint.
Sanchez has been charged by summons and is scheduled to make his first appearance in the case next Spring.
