Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Plainview man today entered guilty pleas to a list of charges stemming from a high-speed chase in the stolen vehicle in Rochester in late May.

According to the charges against 25-year-old José Luis Delgado Junior, he was arrested on May 26 after State Troopers used a "pursuit intervention technique" to end a pursuit that began on southbound Highway 52 near the 65th Street Interchange. The court document says a State Trooper responding to reports of an erratic driver spotted the vehicle going more than 90 mph.

The criminal complaint says speeds during the pursuit reached nearly 120 mph while the fleeing motorist was seen weaving through traffic, passing vehicles on the shoulder, and nearly colliding with several vehicles. After Delgado was finally stopped, the charges say the troopers learned the vehicle had been reported stolen. It was also alleged that Delgado initially provided law officers with a false name.

Delgado was charged with felony counts of fleeing police and receiving stolen property. He was also charged with gross misdemeanor reckless driving and a misdemeanor for allegedly giving a false name to police.

Court records indicate he is scheduled to be sentenced in August. Based on his criminal history, State Sentencing Guidelines recommend a stayed prison sentence and probation.
