
(UPDATE) No Survivors After Brooklyn Park Plane Crash
Brooklyn Park, MN (KROC-AM News) - There were no survivors after a single-engine airplane crashed into a house today in the Twin Cities.
The Brooklyn Park Fire Department issued a statement Saturday evening concerning the deadly incident and indicated that it is currently unknown how many people were aboard the plane at the time. No one on the ground was injured when the plane smashed into a home in the Minneapolis suburb and exploded.
According to the Brooklyn Fire Department, the home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene shortly before 12:30 PM. The house was located in a residential neighborhood several blocks east of Champlin High School.
The news release indicates the fire was brought under control within an hour. The fire resulting from the crash caused a power outage affecting the area, where residents are being told that it is expected electrical service will be restored around midnight.

Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to arrive at the scene to begin their investigations early tomorrow. The FAA earlier indicated the airplane had taken off from the Des Moines International Airport and was headed for the Anoka-Blaine Airport when it crashed.

Multiple media outlets in the Twin Cities are reporting that a small plane has crashed into a home in Brooklyn Park.
The reports indicate the crash occurred shortly before 12:30 PM in a residential neighborhood located several blocks east of Champlin Park High School. Numerous witnesses have reported that the single engine plane crashed into a home and the house was completely engulfed in flames.
WCCO-TV is reporting that the Federal Aviation Administration has indicated the plane took off earlier from the Des Moines Iowa International Airport on a flight plan to the Anoka County-Blaine Airport.

At this point, confirmed information concerning the occupants of the plane and the home is not available at this point, information.
