Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police are investigating a shooting reported at a Rochester apartment complex last week.

Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen said Tuesday morning that officers responded to a shots fired report at the Gates of Rochester apartment complex in the 2,000 block of 41st St. Northwest. The shooting was reported to have occurred in the poor area shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Moilanen said the initial investigation indicates two groups of people were involved in an altercation when one of the people involved fired a gun. Officers found two spent shell casings at the scene.

Responding officers did not find anyone at the scene hurt by the gunfire and no one went to a hospital with a gunshot wound, Moilanen said. The crowd had disbursed before officers got to the scene.

No arrests have been made. Moilanen said the shooting appeared to have been an isolated incident.
