Regional Transportation Issues on Rochester Today

Minnesota Department of Transportation District 6 Public Affairs Coordinator Mike Dougherty was in the KROC-AM studios Wednesday morning for his monthly visit with Tracy McCray and Andy Brownell on Rochester Today.

The focus of the show on the first Monday of the month is always transportation and this time Mike used his appearance to promote the State Department of Transportation's upgraded travel condition information app.

The MN511 app is available for both Apple and Android devices and provides users with up-to-date information about detours and lane closures resulting from highway construction projects, road closings caused by traffic crashes and weather-related travel issues.

Of course, Mike also updated the audience on the MNDOT projects taking place in southeastern Minnesota, along with ongoing efforts to find funding to complete the expansion of Highway 14 to four lanes from Rochester to Owatonna.
