Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A monthly snapshot of the manufacturing sector in the Upper Midwest shows continued strong growth.

The June edition of the Mid-America Business Conditions Index put the number for the nine-state region at its highest point since February 2011. The June figure of 62.3 was up from May’s 55.5 reading, making it seven straight positive monthly reports.

Surveys of supply managers in Minnesota put the state’s overall index at a very healthy 68, up nearly 10 points from May.

Survey author Ernie Goss says there was growth in many areas of manufacturing in Minnesota during June, both durable and nondurable.

“ Based on surveys over the past several months, the state economy will continue to grow at a healthy pace through the fourth quarter of this year," said Goss.
