Ringhaver Family Donates $75 Million to Mayo Clinic in Florida

Paula and Randy lost their son at the age of eight to an aggressive form of leukemia in 1980. Randal “Lee” Ringhaver, Jr. is the namesake for Mayo’s newest expansion of its Jacksonville.

Mayo says the five-story expansion of the hospital tower adds 121 rooms and features digital technologies that empower patients and support more personal care.

The  Lee Ringhaver Tower also has shell space for future growth and can accommodate three additional stories.

“When we walk into the tower, we feel optimism and confidence,” says Paula Ringhaver. “It symbolizes growth and progress. We believe in what Mayo Clinic is building here, and we trust that Lee’s legacy will live on through the care and hope this tower represents.”

Family Tradition of Care at Mayo Clinic

Generations of the Ringhaver family have turned to Mayo Clinic for care. Randy’s father was treated at Mayo Clinic in Rochester and many other family members have gone to Mayo over the years.

The news release also says that many employees of the family’s company, Ring Power, have gotten life-changing care at Mayo Clinic’s Florida campus.

“Philanthropy makes it possible for us to build the future of healthcare,” says Kent Thielen, M.D., CEO of Mayo Clinic in Florida. “We are deeply grateful to Paula and Randy for their extraordinary generosity and trust. Their gift will change lives — now and for generations to come — in our community and around the world.”
