Minnesota’s 2024 Road Construction Season Has Ended
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The 2024 road construction season has come to an end in Minnesota.

Construction crews worked on almost 240 road and bridge projects across the state. Several of those projects took place in southeast Minnesota.
A MnDOT news release announcing the completion of 2024 road construction season highlighted four major projects in the Rochester area that were either started or completed.
MnDOT Completes Pair of Major Southeast Minnesota Road Projects in 2024
Earlier this year, MnDOT announced the completion of a two-year project to resurface Interstate 35 through Faribault. Crews also repaired and replaced ramps at interchanges in the Faribault area during the multi-year project.
A project to build a J-turn intersection and make safety improvements along Hwy. 14 between Byron and Dodge Center was also finished this year.

The new J-Turn intersection is at the junction of Hwy. 14 and Dodge County Rd. 9 between Kasson and Dodge Center.
Crews also installed a high-tension median cable barrier, repaved six miles of the highway and repaired the bridge at the Hwy. 57 interchange in Kasson.
First Year of Work for Major I-90 Projects in Southeast Minnesota Completed
Work got started this season on two major multi-year projects along the Interstate 90 corridor in southeast Minnesota. Crews completed the initial stages of a three year project to transform the I-90/Hwy. 52 interchange southeast of Rochester.
Once completed the interchange will have a new flyover ramp connecting southbound Hwy. 52 to I-90, new I-90 overpass bridges and improved entrance and exit ramps.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
In Austin, crews began a project to replace six bridges. MnDOT says two bridges will be replaced and a third bridge will be repaired by the end of the year.
