Rochester Art Center Exec Director Leaving
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester Art Center is losing its executive director.
Board members and others have been informed that Shannon Fitzgerald is leaving to take a job in Florida as Executive Director of the Mennello Museum of American Art in Orlando. Fitzgerald’s husband has been Director and CEO of the Orlando Museum of Art since January 2013.
Rochester City Councilmember Michael Wojcik - who is a member of the RAC Board - says her departure will be a loss for the community.
"Rochester is extremely fortunate to have had the services of Shannon Fitzgerald for as long as we did. Shannon is leaving the Rochester Art Center with an amazingly talented staff and in a position of strength. She will be missed."
Fitzgerald began her Rochester position three years ago, on July 9, 2012. She is expected to begin her new job in September.
