A local car dealership has made a major financial commitment to the Rochester Boys and Girls Club.

Clements Chevrolet has agreed to provide $350,000 dollars over five years to support a new initiative called Clements Kids: Achieving Academic Success through Arts and Athletics. Two local standout athletes, Minnesota Vikings player Marcus Sherels and his brother Michael Sherels (linebacker coach for the Golden Gophers Football team), have signed on to serve as spokesmen for the initiative.

The program is designed to empower youth, particularly those in the highest need, to achieve academic excellence by providing top-notch experiences in athletics and the arts in order to support academics.

In addition to the $350,000 dollar pledge, Clements has also provided the Boys and Girls Club with a new 16 passenger van.
