Rochester Deer Hunter Accidentally Shoots Himself
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man accidentally shot himself in the foot while deer hunting Friday afternoon in the Oronoco area.
The 23 year old man told Olmsted County deputies he was sitting down and leaning back against a tree when he spotted some deer. The man says he was not able to get a shot off and forgot to uncock the 50 caliber muzzle loader gun when he set it down. The gun discharged a short while later as he was reaching for his cellphone.
The man suffered a graze wound to one of his feet and went to St. Mary’s for treatment.
