
Rochester Meth Trafficking Investigation Leads to Conviction
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man charged in connection with an investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine and cocaine in the Rochester area has entered into a plea agreement that could send him to prison for years.
A criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court says law enforcement seized large quantities of both drugs and cash while executing a search warrant on the vehicle in June 2024. The driver was identified as 46-year-old Donald Paul Kimber of Minneapolis.
Minneapolis Man Pleads Guilty in Rochester Drug Case
According to the charges, law enforcement had been tracking Kimber as part of a drug trafficking investigation and believed he was acquiring drugs in the Twin Cities and bringing them to Rochester to sell. On the morning of his arrest, the court document says he was returning to Rochester from the Twin Cities.
Police Seized Meth, Cocaine, and Cash
Inside the vehicle, the criminal complaint says investigators found a backpack containing more than 452 grams of methamphetamine and $2,000 in cash. The search also led to the discovery of two packages of cocaine weighing more than 40 grams.
Kimber was charged with one count of first-degree drug sales, along with one count each of first- and second-degree drug possession.

Sentencing Scheduled for January
On Tuesday, Kimber entered a guilty plea to the first-degree drug possession charge. He also admitted to a DWI charge in a separate case in exchange for the dismissal of the two other felony drug counts and a second DWI charge from the other case.
According to the plea agreement, Kimber’s defense attorney will request a probationary sentence, while prosecutors are expected to seek a prison term of around 75 months. He is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
