Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester School Board will meet this afternoon to interview the finalists for the interim superintendent of the Rochester School District.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 PM and will be continued on Thursday if needed. On Friday, the School Board chose the finalists from a field of 11 candidates. They are Dr. Christina Bemboom (Senior Director of Student Support Services at the Eden Prairie Schools), Dr. Kent Pekel (President and CEO of Search Institute), and Dr. John Thein (Director of Finance for Stillwater Area Public Schools).

All of the interviews will be held remotely through Microsoft Teams and live-streamed at YouTube.com/ISD535.

The Rochester School Board is looking to hire a temporary successor to Superintendent Michael Munoz whose previously announced resignation takes effect at the end of June. The interim superintendent would be expected to serve one year on the school board and conducts a more expansive search for a permanent superintendent.
