Rochester Man Accepts Plea Deal in 2019 Drug Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man today entered into a plea agreement involving multiple felony drug charges stemming from an investigation conducted in the fall of 2019.
34-year-old Mason Zill entered a guilty plea to a charge of first-degree drug sales and a felony count of illegal possession of a firearm. In exchange, Olmsted County prosecutors dropped six other felony drug charges.
Zille was arrested on November 15, 2019, after a Rochester police investigator working with the confidential informant successfully completed five purchases of cocaine and THC vaping oil from him between September 24 and October 17, 2019. The criminal complaint states the informant paid Zill nearly $4000 for the purchase of more than 55 Grams of cocaine and the vaping cartridges containing the THC oil.
The charge of illegal possession of a firearm stemmed from a search warrant executed at Zill's residence on October 31, 2019, that led to the discovery of a shotgun and shotgun shells.
Zill is scheduled to be sentenced on both convictions on March 28.
