Rochester Man Accused of Repeatedly Sexually Assaulting Young Girl
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office has charged a Rochester man accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a young girl four years ago.
20-year-old Mohammed Shei was charged Thursday with a count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection to multiple alleged sexual assaults of a girl under the age of 10 that occurred in 2018. Court records indicate the first assault happened when the young girl was at Shei’s residence for a play date with his younger sister.
In a 2020 interview with investigators, the girl estimated she was sexually assaulted at least eight times over the course of a year. The girl told investigators Shei would offer her money to use at a school book fair if she kept the alleged sexual assaults a secret and also said it would ruin his life if the girl told anyone about the alleged sexual assaults, the criminal complaint says.
If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, resources are available for help. Visit the RAINN website (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) or dial 800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673).
In an interview with investigators, Shei denied sexually assaulting the young girl. Court documents say the case was certified for adult prosecution. Shei is scheduled to make his first appearance in Olmsted County Court on December 21.
