Rochester Man Awaiting Sentencing For 28 Pound Meth Bust
Albert Lea. MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man recently entered a guilty plea in Freeborn County Court in a case involving a major shipment of methamphetamine.
27-year-old Alex Zak admitted to a 3rd-degree drug charge and is scheduled to be sentenced on February 24th. Court records show he and an Albert Lea man were arrested last May following a traffic stop on I-35. The State Trooper noted both men were "visibly nervous," which led to a search and the seizure of 22 packets of meth that weighed about 28 pounds.
The Albert Lea man, 56-year-old Richard Allen, had his case moved to federal court and previously pleaded guilty.
