Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) -The Rochester man who was arrested as the suspected driver of a car that caused a deadly traffic wreck in the city Friday night was arraigned Tuesday on three criminal vehicular homicide charges,all felonies.  

The Olmsted County Attorney’s office also charged 20 year old Akili Scott with nine lesser counts of criminal vehicular operation.The charges list gross negligence, under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene as factors.  

Police say Scott was traveling at a high rate of speed when he ran a stop sign and collided with the other vehicle at the intersection of 13th St and 8th Ave SE. The driver of the other car - 23 year old Kayla Cunningham - was dead when officers arrived. Scott and three passengers fled but were later located.

Police suspect Scott had been drinking. The traffic investigator assigned to the case estimates Scott's car may have been traveling between 60 and 80 mph at the time of the collision.  

His bail was set at $250,000 during Tuesday's hearing. He has been ordered back to court for another hearing on November 24th.
