Rochester Man Charged With Recent Drive-By Shooting
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man has been charged in a recent shooting that apparently involved some of the same people who also had connections to a deadly shooting the same day.
A police officer checked a report of shell casings in the parking lot of Enterprise Rental Car at 838 38th St NW the morning of Oct. 30th The officer found the casings and also discovered several vehicles had been hit by bullets.
Investigators were able to obtain surveillance video from the area and interviewed several people and eventually were told an occupied vehicle had been shot at and someone in that vehicle returned fire. No injuries were reported.
Investigators later identified one of the suspected shooters as 21-year-old Jeremy Hatchett and he was formally charged with drive-by shooting Friday. The criminal complaint indicates another person was with him.
It’s believed this incident happened just before 2:00 AM.
The other shooting happened at the nearby Village of Essex apartments complex and was reported about an hour later. Officers arrived to find two victims, one dead and another critically wounded. The suspected shooter remains at large.
