The manager told officers there have been recent problems with homeless people hanging out in the building.

The manager said he knew Southall was not a tenant and began escorting him out of the building. The manager said Southall became angry, pulled out the knife and threatened to kill him. The manager said Southall followed him down the hallway when he went to call 911 and then returned to the lobby.
