Rochester Man Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting 13 Year Old Girl
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to just under six years in prison for sexually assaulting a young girl.
According to court records, 37-year-old Jonathan Mark Tompkin earlier entered into a plea agreement and admitted to three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct stemming from sexual assaults that occurred in 2023. The criminal complaint says the victim, who was 13 years old, told Rochester police that she was sexually assaulted by Tompkin several times after she complied with requests from him to visit his residence.

The charges alleged that Tompkin would supply the girl with alcohol and marijuana and that she agreed to visit his residence because she was fearful that he knew where she was staying. Court documents say the victim met Tompkin online and he messaged her on Snapchat. After initially refusing his invitations to "hang out," the girl told investigators he showed up at the residence where she was staying and indicated he had obtained her location from the social media app.
According to the criminal complaint, Tompkin was also accused of showing the girl a gun and threatening to shoot her.
Tompkin initially denied the allegations and told Rochester police he thought she was 23 years old.

He was sentenced Monday to 70 months in prison. He will also be under conditional release for the remainder of his life after he completes the prison term.
