It was earlier thought there would be a mix of rain and snow but forecasters are now predicting all snow as high temperatures Saturday will rise to only into the low 30s.

Rochester has already experienced its third snowiest season ever with 77 inches recorded so far, which is just 8 inches from the record. There is a good chance the region could receive more snow next Wednesday - meaning this could be the city’s snowiest season ever.

Here is the latest info from the NWS/La Crosse:

What: A strong storm system that will produce heavy snow, rain and a wintry mix. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for portions of southeast Minnesota, western and north-central Wisconsin.

Where: Entire area. Highest chances for heavy snow in southeast Minnesota into north-central Wisconsin. More rain/mix farther south. Area of heaviest snow could shift (likely farther southeast if it does).

Timing: Saturday into Sunday morning

Impacts: Significant travel impacts where heaviest snow falls. Heavy, wet snow on top of previous snow could lead to roof collapses. Areas that receive more rain could see river rises, ice jams, and flooding.
