Rochester Misses Out On A Possible Snowy Veterans Day
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - It’s a good thing temperatures stayed above freezing in southeast Minnesota Wednesday night/Thursday morning.
Steady rain started Wednesday afternoon and temperatures remained in the 40s through Thursday morning.
The rainfall total at the Rochester airport as of midnight was nearly 1.5 inches and nearly half an inch fell between midnight and 7:00 am. The 24 hour total is more than the monthly totals from September and October. Had it been colder, residents may have been dealing with a few inches of snow - or more.
A few inches of snow may fall in the Austin/Albert Lea and Mankato areas Thursday evening. An inch or less is expected in Rochester and other areas in southeast Minnesota.
It will be cold the next few days with highs in the 30s tomorrow through Monday but upper 40s are expected Tuesday.
News update: A closed downtown Rochester restaurant has sued the city and DMC.
