Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Police Department has identified the pedestrian who was killed while crossing South Broadway Ave. in Rochester earlier this week.

Authorities have also released the name of the driver. The fatality happened on Wednesday. 

Police said the pedestrian died at the scene despite life-saving measures.

First responders were dispatched to the scene of the fatal incident at the intersection of 19th St. and South Broadway Ave. around 5:40 p.m.

Rochester Man Identified as Pedestrian Killed While Crossing South Broadway Ave. in Rochester, MN Wednesday

The pedestrian was crossing the busy road outside of the crosswalk when he was struck by a northbound vehicle, police said Wednesday.

The pedestrian has been identified as Paul Abbott of Rochester. He was 64 years old, according to Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson. 

The driver of the vehicle that struck Abbott has been identified as 40-year-old Paul Brooks of Rochester. He was not hurt. 

Grayson said as of Friday morning no arrests have been made and no citations have been issued.
