Rochester Native Yung Gravy Lands Big Voice Acting Role this Year

Do you remember Yung Gravy? Of course you do, he's from Rochester, Minnesota! He's a rapper whose biggest hit was definitely Betty (Get Money), which came out in 2022.

But now, Yung Gravy, whose real name is Matthew Hauri, is lending his voice to some voice acting work!

It's always so cool to see someone local do cool stuff like this. It's not every day that someone from Rochester releases music that we then play on the radio, PLUS gets into voice acting.

Yung Gravy has a great voice, so I definitely understand why he's getting booked for these gigs now.

Yung Gravy Voice Acting in the Movie 'Dog Man'

In January 2025, Yung Gravy's first voice acting gig was released in the movie adaptation of 'Dog Man'. He voiced Mr. Whiskers, who is an inmate in Cat Jail.

And then, going down a totally different path, he is now a character in the newly released, and very popular, NSFW video game called 'Dispatch'.

My husband, who's big into video games (I am too, just not to the same extent as him), made the connection that Yung Gravy is the voice of one of the characters. I thought it was so cool that I needed to make sure I gave our local Rochesterite his flowers.

Yung Gravy Lends His Voice to Video Game 'Dispatch'

In 'Dispatch', Yung Gravy voices the character named Golem, who is a "magical construct made of dirt and clay and a member of the Z-Team."

By the way, if you're interested, 'Dispatch' is "an episodic adventure game ... where the player's choices affect the story via the use of dialogue trees in conversations with other characters."
