Rochester Police Arrest Two Suspected Porch Pirates
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Police Department today reported the arrests of a couple of suspected porch pirates.
Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers responded around 1:20 PM yesterday to a report of people taking packages from doorsteps in the vicinity of 7th Street and Lakeridge Drive Northwest. She says witnesses were able to provide detailed descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle.
According to the department spokesperson, officers then located the vehicle and the suspects in a nearby parking lot. Grayson says the search resulted in the discovery of an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine.
She says 41-year-old Cherish Portillo and 37-year-old Jay Ernst were taken into custody. According to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center website, both individuals are awaiting arraignment on drug sale and mail theft charges.
