Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Police Department has issued a community notification to alert residents about a change of address for a Level 3 sex offender living in the community.

The statement says 50-year-old Dontae Lament Hampton moved into a residence in the 1900 block of 8½ Street Southeast in Rochester at the beginning of the month. Hampton was released from prison five years ago and had previously registered his address as a halfway house on the Olmsted County campus in southeast Rochester.

History of Sexual Assault

The community notification indicates Hampton has a history of criminal sexual contact with known adult women. A fact sheet states that force or threats were used to gain compliance and that he broke into the home of one of his victims to gain access. Will

Court records show his criminal history includes a criminal sexual conduct conviction in 2010 and felony convictions for failing to register as a predatory offender in 2014. He was also convicted of escaping from custody in 2017.
