Rochester Drug Dealer Faces Prison for Repeat Crimes
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester drug dealer has been handed a prison sentence for his latest conviction.
Multiple Drug Transactions
Olmsted County court records show that 24-year-old Leontan Marshawn Troy was charged last year with second-degree drug sales. The criminal complaint alleged that he sold fentanyl to a Rochester police informant on four different occasions in July and August of last year as part of a narcotics investigation.
A Rochester police news release on the investigation indicated the controlled buys involved more than 6 grams of fentanyl during three of the four transactions. In the fourth transaction, the news release stated that Troy sold what turned out to be 6 grams of Tylenol to the police informant.

Rochester Police Zero Tolerance Stance For Drug Dealers
Following Troy's arrest, Rochester Police Chief Jim Franklin issued a statement saying, “This operation underscores the Rochester Police Department’s zero-tolerance stance against drug dealers and reflects our commitment to stopping the flow of fentanyl and other dangerous drugs into our community.”
Guilty Plea
Troy entered into a plea agreement last month and admitted to an amended charge of third-degree drug sales. He was sentenced today to 44 months in prison for the conviction.
Previous Conviction
He will be serving that sentence concurrently with a 65-month prison sentence for a previous first-degree drug possession conviction involving what court documents describe as several hundred M30 fentanyl pills, along with the seizure of several hundred dollars in cash and other items indicative of drug sales.

Criminal History
He was originally given a stayed prison sentence and was placed on probation for that conviction in 2024. During his sentencing hearing for his latest conviction today, Troy requested the court impose the 65-month prison sentence.
