Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester teenager who took part in an armed robbery earlier this year has been placed on probation and ordered to pay restitution.

Police say 18-year-old Keyshawn Howell and another teenager held up the Cold Stone Creamery near Menards South in early February. The other teen pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money. The two made off with about $200 in cash.

Police said Howell did not do a good job covering his face and that’s what led to his arrest.

He was arrested the day after the robbery after an employee told officers she recognized Howell because they went to the same high school.

Howell has been placed on probation for up to 10 years and ordered to perform 100 hours community work service.

Howell identified the other teen as 19-year-old Andrees Green, who was sentenced to probation and also ordered to pay restitution.
