The ongoing violence in Ferguson, Missouri and the media's role in the tragic drama was explored by Tom Ostrom, Andy Brownell and callers to Rochester Today Tuesday morning.

10 days after a fatal police shooting in the St. Louis suburb, authorities are still working to restore calm. Police and Missouri State Troopers in riot gear have clashed nightly as largely peaceful day-time protests have been followed by night-time looting and attacks on law officers and others

At the same time, the nation's airwaves and cable networks have been filled with reports often based on inaccurate or misleading information from purported witnesses and anonymous sources.  It seems many in the media are unable to hold back and wait for more concrete information in what has proved to be a very fluid and dangerous situation.

That begs the question of whether the wall-to-wall coverage of the unrest is helping to fuel the violence?  Click on the play button to hear the discussion from Tuesday's show...
