Rochester’s Famous Tinn’s is Opening a Second Location
Tinn's Grilled Philly Steak Subs is a well-known and loved restaurant in Rochester, Minnesota that's been a staple in the community for years. Unfortunately, there was a time when Tinn's didn't exist, but they've come back, and now they're going to open a second location.

The History of Tinn's in Rochester, MN
Tinn's first opened in Rochester in 2005. Sadly, the original owner passed away in 2014, but the locations were taken over by his business partner.
By 2018, all five locations had closed. By the time I moved to Rochester, Tinn's was a thing of the past, and people who had lived here at the time were really upset that they were gone.

Fast forward to 2024, the current owner, Leroy Slininger, took over and brought Tinn's back!
Right now, they only have the one location on 2nd St. across from St. Mary's, but pretty soon, there will be a second location... just not in Rochester.
Tinn's Gets Hit Hard by Rochester, MN Construction
As I'm sure with other Rochester businesses, Tinn's has been hit hard by the construction going on in town. It has been deterring people from going to our local businesses, and it's really making it hard for them to stay afloat.
Tinn's owner, Leroy, told the Post Bulletin that they've lost about 60% of their business since the construction started. Oof...
Leroy had been on the hunt for a second Rochester location, but nothing came to fruition. And then he found an opportunity in Northfield.
Tinn's Opening a Location in Northfield, MN
There was a restaurant in Northfield called Gong Loco. They, unfortunately, closed their doors at the end of May this year. Leroy saw the opportunity and ran with it.
A second Tinn's location will be opening in Northfield, where Gong Loco used to be, at the beginning of 2026.
