Arrest Made in Olmsted County Fentanyl Overdose Death
Update: Murder Charge Filed in Olmsted County Drug Overdose Death
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Charges are pending against a Minneapolis man in a case involving a fatal drug overdose in Olmsted County.
Marion Township Overdose Death
Olmsted County Sheriff's Office Captain Tim Parkin says the overdose death occurred in March of last year at a residence along Highway 14 in Marion Township. He says deputies were dispatched to the location for a medical call involving a man who was not breathing. An autopsy determined his death was caused by a fentanyl overdose.
Investigation Identified Supplier of Drugs
According to Captain Parkin, investigators later learned that 51-year-old Charles Webster Sr. had sold fentanyl to the overdose victim. It was also learned that Webster was living in Minneapolis, and with assistance from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, Webster was arrested and transported to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center today.
Murder and Manslaughter Charges
He is being held on suspicion of third-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and first-degree drug sales.
