SE Rochester intersection partially closed tonight

The reconstruction of Rochester’s 16th street near the county fairgrounds is expected to affect a main intersection tonight.

The city says the north side of the 3rd avenue/16th street intersection will be closed at 6 p.m. It is scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. tomorrow. The city Public Works Department says this means southbound traffic on 3rd avenue will need to use a detour. Northbound traffic will be able to use east or westbound 16th street as the south side of the intersection will not be affected.
