Search Continues for Weapon Used in Rochester Murder Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Investigators with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office are continuing their search for the weapon suspected of being used in the death of 41-year-old Kimberly Robinson of Rochester.
Sheriff’s Captain James Schueller confirmed to KROC-AM News Saturday that the search is ongoing. He said the sheriff’s office could not comment on the type of firearm suspected of being used at this time.
Preliminary autopsy results indicated that Robinson suffered a fatal gunshot wound to her neck. The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office charged 39-year-old Mustafa Bush of Rochester with second-degree murder without intent, second-degree murder while committing a felony and first-degree drug possession on Wednesday.
Court documents say Bush and Robinson had been living together and had gotten into a fight shortly before Robinson’s body was discovered in the ditch of a rural northwest Rochester intersection on December 26. Investigators arrested Bush on suspicion of murdering Robinson the night of December 28 and have conducted a series of interviews, surveillance and executed several search warrants over the course of the murder investigation.
