Moilanen said a 54-year-old man’s girlfriend called police to their home shortly after 2 a.m. after finding her boyfriend was experiencing drug overdose symptoms in the bathroom of their home. Officers found the man unresponsive in the bathroom and administered Narcan.

A Mayo Clinic Ambulance crew arrived at the scene and the man regained consciousness. He denied drug use prior to the emergency call and ordered officers and first responders to leave the home, Moilanen said.

The recent string of suspected drug overdoses started last weekend when officers responded to three suspected overdose calls involving four people. One of the overdoses, involving a 39-year-old Rochester woman, was fatal.
